Reusable Insecticide-Free Fly Trap
Suitable for capturing:
House fly (Musca domestica)
Lesser house fly (Fannia canicularis)
Similar non-biting, sponging fly species
Not intended for biting or stinging insects (ants, crickets, dragonflies, grasshoppers, etc.).
Recommended for use in enclosed outdoor areas. Never use preventively — it may actually attract flies. In areas with low insect populations, the trap may not perform at full capacity, as trapped dead flies also act as attractant.
For repeated use, do not wash the inside of the trap. The longer it is used, the more effective it becomes (dead insects attract additional flies).
An effective, insecticide-free fly trap that attracts and kills thousands of flies. Contains a patented attractant that flies cannot resist.
Excellent for use around horses, pets, cattle, sheep, poultry, pigs, outdoor kennels, yards, garbage containers, or anywhere flies are a problem. Safe for use around children and animals.
Durable, unbreakable bottle designed to last the entire season.
Directions for Use
No meat or fish is required as bait for the Fly Terminator®.
IMPORTANT: Shake attractant thoroughly before use — sediment may settle during storage.
Pour 30 ml (2 tablespoons / 1 oz.) of attractant into the Fly Terminator™ jug.
Fill the jug to one-third or halfway with water.
Gently shake to disperse the attractant.
Screw the top assembly onto the jug.
Place the trap outdoors in a sunny location with high fly activity or where odor will not be a nuisance.
Placement Notes
Not recommended for indoor use or for biting insects.
Do not place within reach of livestock.
In windy areas, hang the trap through the hole in the handle using wire or cord.
For maximum effectiveness, position the trap approximately 120 cm (4 ft.) above ground level.
In hot weather (above 30°C / 85°F), the trap performs better in shade.
In cooler weather, place in direct sunlight.
Maintenance
Shake contents at least twice weekly to fully soak trapped insects.
Add water as needed to maintain the recommended level (about 2.5 cm / 1 inch below trapped insects). Do not allow the trap to dry out.
If maggots appear due to insufficient shaking:
Add 1 teaspoon of liquid dish soap and enough water to fully cover insects (about 1 to ? of the container).
Shake and let stand for 24 hours.
Reduce water level back to recommended height.
When the jug is two-thirds full of dead insects, empty and clean the trap, then refill with attractant.
Helpful Tips
If fewer than about 50 flies are caught within 5 days, add more attractant to extend trap effectiveness.
Remove any spiders or webs if present, as they reduce efficiency.
Use multiple traps in different locations for better results.
Good fly control should complement proper manure management.
In areas with light frost, traps may catch more flies if placed 60–90 cm above ground.
Hanging traps above head height reduces effectiveness.
If maggots persist, add 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, shake, leave overnight, then empty and clean.
Dead insects make excellent natural fertilizer — bury at least 15 cm deep.
Never seal dead insects in a closed container (risk of pressure buildup).
In hard water areas, use distilled or purified water for best results.
