Vegetable oils serve many important functions in equine nutrition:
Source of energy: Adding oil increases the energy density of the feed ration without increasing its volume. In terms of energy equivalent, 1 L of vegetable oil equals 3 kg of barley!
Muscular metabolism support: Utilizing lipids (oils) in the diet helps preserve glycogen stores (the energy source in muscles), thereby delaying the onset of fatigue during exercise.
Source of Omega 3 & 6: Omega 3 and 6 are "essential fatty acids," meaning they cannot be synthesized by the horse's body.
LIN SEED OIL ensures a steady supply of fatty acids rich in Omega 3, 6, and 9. This high-quality oil supports healthy weight gain and has beneficial effects on the coat and skin. It is therefore highly suitable for performance horses in training, where it is necessary to increase dietary energy intake without increasing feed volume.
Mix into the daily feed ration or administer directly into the horse's mouth at the following rates:
Adult horses: 50 to 70 ml per day
Foals or ponies: 25 ml per day
