Instructions for washing the felt girth: Warmer seasons are particularly suitable for soaking a felt girth. Take a large basin and fill it with lukewarm or cold water. Add a little washing-up liquid. Now swish the girth around in the water a few times and rub it thoroughly, paying particular attention to any hardened areas. If it is heavily soiled, simply repeat this process several times. Sweat and dirt often cause the fibres to clump together, but once the sweat and dirt have been rinsed away, they will separate again. Then shake out the belt and hang it on a rail or fence to dry.
